Nostalgia Radio Rides Again!
Local Broadcasting
Pros from the Past Join Forces to Give Back
to Their Community
Perhaps because Manitoba is full of such
closely-knit communities (yes, even Winnipeg), it should
come as no surprise that many of our retired broadcasters
keep in close touch with each other.
They
reminisce about their on-air experiences (good and bad),
laugh over the bloopers, and share memories
of their broadcasting buddies who have since passed
on. But most of all, they talk about how much they miss
the music of their younger years, and what a pleasure
and privilege it was to be
able to share it with their loyal listeners.

Veteran
voices to launch new (but old) FM station
By
Morley Walker
NOSTALGIA
radio in Winnipeg isn't nostalgia quite yet.
A
temporary new FM station, picking up where the late
and beloved CHNR left off, is slated to hit airwaves
Dec. 2.
CJNU
(Nostalgia Unlimited ) at 104.7 FM will start by playing
popular hits from the 1940s to the 1980s for three weeks
in December.
"We'll
play everything but rock," said Bill Stewart, the
president of the non-profit co-operative behind the
station.
